Donating Eggs and Embryos for Stem Cell Research at Bedford Research Foundation
Bedford Research Foundation (BRF) is at the forefront of stem cell research, offering a unique opportunity for individuals to contribute to groundbreaking scientific advancements. Our program currently accepts previously collected eggs and embryos, and is designed to support critical studies in regenerative medicine and human development.
Pioneering Egg Donation for Research
BRF’s Egg Donor program made history as the world’s first initiative to recruit women specifically for providing eggs for stem cell research. This groundbreaking approach has paved the way for significant progress in the field. Today, our focus has shifted to accepting eggs and embryos that have already been collected and are no longer needed for fertility treatments. Read about the history.
Ethical Oversight and Eligibility
BRF is committed to transparent, ethical research practices. The independent ethics advisory board, chaired by Arthur Isak Applbaum, PhD, has reviewed and approved all protocols for accepting donated eggs and embryos.
We welcome participation from patients of all backgrounds:
– All races and nationalities are eligible
– Individuals with and without fertility disorders are eligible
– Embryos of all types (euploid, aneuploid, mosaic, untested) are accepted
Advancing Stem Cell Research
By donating your previously collected eggs or embryos, you’re contributing to:
– Development of new pluripotent stem cells
– Studies on human embryonic development
– Stem Cells to Cure HIV Disease
