Position Overview

This postdoctoral position offers hands-on experience across reproductive biology, stem cell research, and related biomedical disciplines within a focused research program co-led by Dr. Ann Kiessling and Dr. David Albertini. The successful candidate will develop independent research skills while contributing to ongoing projects, with meaningful opportunities for publication, grant writing, and scientific presentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct independent research in reproductive biology and related areas
  • Perform cell culture and microscopy experiments
  • Execute molecular biology procedures including PCR and related assays
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data using statistical methods
  • Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals
  • Maintain detailed laboratory records
  • Present research findings at lab meetings and scientific conferences
  • Mentor junior laboratory personnel as appropriate
  • Contribute to grant proposal preparation

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, or closely related field
  • Demonstrated ability to write scientific papers in English
  • Hands-on laboratory experience with cell culture techniques
  • Proficiency in microscopy methods
  • Basic molecular biology skills including PCR
  • Competency with spreadsheets and statistical analysis software
  • Strong interest in reproductive biology and stem cell research

Preferred Qualifications

  • Published research in reproductive biology or related fields
  • Experience with stem cell research
  • Knowledge of developmental biology
  • Familiarity with advanced imaging techniques

Compensation

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience, based on NIH postdoctoral stipend guidelines.
