We were honored that she delivered the 2005 Symposium Keynote: &#8220;Human Eggs: Why do we need them? How do we get them?&#8221; <a title=\"Anne McLaren, PhD, \u201cHuman Eggs: Why do we need them? How do we get them?\u201d\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bedfordresearch.org\/symposium\/th_gallery\/anne-mclaren-dr-human-eggs-why-do-we-need-them-how-do-we-get-them\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">View Dr. McLaren&#8217;s talk<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Dr. McLaren&#8217;s presentation was joined by<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Dr. Stephen Sullivan, Harvard University<br \/>\n\u2022 Dr. Tom Ducibella, Tufts School of Medicine<br \/>\n\u2022 Dr. Jim Robl, Hematech Corporation<br \/>\n\u2022 Dr. Carol Brenner, talk entitled: \u201cChallenges and Promises of Primate Embryonic Stem Cell Research\u201d<br \/>\n\u2022 Dr. David Battaglia, talk entitled: \u201cEggs, Sugar and Ice: Recipe for Fertility Preservation\u201d <a title=\"David Battaglia, PhD, \u201cEggs, Sugar and Ice: Recipe for Fertility Preservation\u201d\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bedfordresearch.org\/symposium\/th_gallery\/battaglia-dr-eggs-sugar-and-ice-recipe-for-fertility-preservation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">View Dr. Battaglia\u2019s talk<\/a><br \/>\n\u2022 Dr. Daniel Wikler, Harvard University School of Public Health<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"content\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The speakers were also joined by:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"content\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<strong>Senator Cynthia Stone Creem<\/strong> discussed her position on Stem Cell Research in Massachusetts. D &#8211; MA (Middlesex and Norfolk 1)<\/p>\n<p class=\"content\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Senator Creem co-sponsored with Senator Travaglini a bill to support pluripotent stem cell research in Massachusetts which passed 35 to 2. The bill was vetoed by Governor Mitch Romney, but his veto was overturned by a two-thirds majority vote.
