Dr. Maietta also became very interested in stem cell research and therapy, precipitated by a parent electing to have stem cell therapy for a chronic life-threatening illness, who had to leave the United States for access to treatment.
It is with his interests in HIV/AIDS, and the enormous potential for stem cell research and development, that Dr. Maietta comes to the Bedford Stem Cell Research Foundation where significant ground has already been broken in these areas. It is Dr. Maietta's goal to help expand the Foundation and enable it to increase its remarkable efforts in the areas of stem cell research, HIV/AIDS research, and semen/prostate research.
